Unhappy Password & Browser Cookie Help Required

I am a new subscriber to sky broadband. Hope someone on this forum can help me?

I have been will sky for approximately six weeks. So far I have not received a password so that I can log in to sky for email, etc.

I have tried contacting sky on numerous occasions - nothing has arrived in the post despite my complaints.

In addition, I have had to use another computer to register for this site as I cannot access my old email account I have with BT. I get a message saying that the brower refuses to sign in/does not accept cookies. I get this on several sites - I have tried changing browser settings to allow cookies.

      Please can anyone help?

      Thank you for your reply.

I have tried ringing sky several times to be told they will post the password out and it should arrive in two days - it never does......

Unhappy Re: Password & Browser Cookie Help Required

Still nothing received from Sky - have threatened to cancel my subscription - that didn't work.
Have tried installing Firefox and I still cannot access quite a lot of websites that I am required to log in for which is most frustrating - anyone got any other suggestions please?

Have you at any point set up a Sky account for online before?

A lot of people have reported logging in with their username and a password that was given before signing up to broadband works. If you know of a password that you have previously used on Sky, try that.

if ur running McAfee that came with Sky - get rid of the Privacy Service. This has been causing loads of grief with password protected sites so might be worth giving that a go

Thank you. I have just tried accessing without the Mcaffee privacy service, still no good. In fact I have just tried disabling EVERYTHING on Mcaffee and still no access.

For example I have just been on the WWE (Europe - Wrestling Shop), logged in and I CANNOT add anything to my shopping basket (I can do this on another computer). Also tried the British Migraine Association site - I log in then when I try to access the message board I am asked to Log In again - so go around in circles and cannot access anything.

Pleeeeaassee anymore suggestions would be gratefullly received.

If you are using IE7, go to Tools >Options >Privacy tab Make sure the slider is set to Medium. On the Security Tab, make sure the Internet Zone is set to Medium or Medium High. Also make sure that Java is enabled in the Advanced Tab.

      Success!!

Thanks for all your help - I can now access everything.

One more question - now I have removed McAfee Privacy - do I need to take any other action to protect myself.

Also when I enter Sky broadband I cannot change my homepage, it keeps diverting back to Sky's page which is of no use as Sky are unable to issue me with a password despite numerous requests!
