Need to have my line speed reduced
Hi. I was having problems with my connection dropping out at random intervals. The connection would drop at random time frames from 5 mins to 1hour and half. I am on the 8mb mid package.
Anyhow after three calls to tier 3 (one saying my line stats were the best he'd seen in a long time) I still experienced the problem as they could solve anything.
A few days ago my router synced itself at 4 meg during the night. Since then i have not had a drop in connection for 44 hours.
Will tier 3 reduce my line speed if I ask them as this seems to have resolved the issue?

may have already been done by night shift staff - could give them a call though to be sure and ask them to do it if you want them too...

Re: Need to have my line speed reduced
Curious!!
A work colleague and myself both got mid SkyBB within a few weeks of each other. He is close to the exchange and gets upto 8meg, I am further away and get at most 4meg. We are both on the same exchange.
He has had the intermittent loss of internet connection issue, but mine has been fine.
Intriguing. Same symptoms as you, and one common variable between the two cases (i.e speed).
Could the unreliability be related to the connection speed? Curious.

Re: Need to have my line speed reduced
Speed is deffinately related to connection dropping issues.
If I want to get back to Tier 3 to get them to check, i am gonna have to go through tier 1 again.....and lets face it will understand what I need doing and be willing to pass me throught to tier3? My ticket has been closed from the last round of calls.
