I also lost connection this morning, but this seems to be a BT problem, not Sky's. My exchange is now enabled, so I have applied for an early move to Sky's own service. It seems BT could not give a penny farthing about Sky customers on Connect.

It's funny you should say that , i was just thinking of something that was said to me by the BT representitive i spoke to on Wednesday night to get my Mac Code for transfer to Sky . During his scaremongering / bartering to get me to stay with BT he said something along the lines of "your line is checked nightly for faults at the moment with you being a BT broadband Customer , if you move it won't be " . Now with me paying 11 a month into their coffers for my line rental , i would expect the same level of fault checking (especially as it's probably done automatically by computer....) , would you not ?

And you'd believe that? Then how is it that if you have a fault, YOU have to ring THEM? What a load of........checked nightly, yeah, right. Did you get his name? We could publish it and point at it and laugh!

Yeah of course i believed it that's why i didn't get his name , didn't take the free BT vision tv box , didn't except the free installation / Socket moving , didn't except the 3 a month off the payments but did take the MAC code and run......

Lost mine around 5pm today and still down 90 minutes later. It's synched but no IP assigned. Tech support told me it was a national problem.

Re: No Broadband (Again), BT Wholesale Error???

ok ive been with sky broadband for about 9 months. (connect but recently on sky mid pricing package but im still on BT server according to sky but ill be moved to skys server at some point)

In the last 2 months its went to hell in a handbasket. It really has been dire. Dropped and slow connections....

Today error 300 for most of the day.

I phoned up sky technical support. In all honesty probably the most diabolical and incompetent service i have ever had from any company from which i buy a service. (no joke)

After the usual script stuff the call centre monkey (sorry but they know absolutely nothing!!) tells me the following

"there is a major outage on your line because we are updating our systems

what the? She could not tell me anything else except that. She just repeated herself. I asked to speak someone on a higher tier level (engineer or whatever) she says to hold on a minute

15 minutes later im put through to SKY installations......
guy there puts me back through to tech support and i get another ignorant monkey who doesnt know anything (i am not kidding) Frequent pauses on the most simple of questions!! I was pretty infuriated by this time so i asked to speak to a supervisor or manager. I was told there was none around because they were so busy at the weekend.

Just pathetic.... i bet you if i decide to withhold some of the money i pay them for a month they will come down on me like a ton of bricks. Shouldnt have to put up with such a shoddy service imho.

Anyway im writting a letter to complain. (sky have messed up other things with my account as well)

i was given the below address for complaints? Is this the best address to send to you think?

      Correspondence/Complaints Department
      SKY Subscriptions Ltd
      4 Mackintosh Road
      Kirkton campus
      Livingston
      West lothian
      EH54 7BW

thanks. And people i feel your pain at being on this joke of a broadband service
