Angry sky connect paying 17 a month

yet when i put my phone number on the sky broadband site it says 5 a month

why should i pay 17 a month for connect when others are paying 5 whats that all about

this is what it says on the checker

Fast download speeds and a massive usage allowance can now be yours with Sky Broadband Connect. Normally it would cost you 17 per month. But Connect is available in your area right now for just 5 per month plus a one-off broadband activation fee of 20.

what do i do to get it to 5 a month not 17

Re: sky connect paying 17 a month

Sky offer 5.00 a month for those on Connect, that their Exchanges are being unbundled by end of June 07.

You will have to ring Sky and hope that you get through to someone who will authorise the change of price to your current subscription.

Nope, you need to ring Sky and see if they will change your subscription now. There is no guarantee that they will, and there is no guarantee that come June that your subscription will stay at 5.00 per month.

You seem to be missing the point, I like and lot of other are paying 5 now because like you our exchanges are not yet unbunndled, if Sky don't do yours in May then you are going to be paying 17 for a while longer. Personally I would have asked her to put me on the 5 Connect product today.

As alan says you need to ask to be put on the 5 deal now. If its says in the checker that you can get it for 5 then you are entitled to it - so insist.

Re: sky connect paying 17 a month

The whole point of paying the 5 is to get you on the service, then switch you over when your exchange is upgraded to a "normal" package.

You should be seeing a 17 charge on your bill then a 12 credit.

You would be hoping to pay this amount until your exchange is upgraded in June, and then switch. If your exchange isn't enabled at this time, you carry on paying your 5 until it is, or a 12month passes and then review it.

Call them back, tell them you should be paying 5 not 17 and get them to backdate the charges as well. At worst case get them to change it 5 right now, or explain to you clearly why they will not do this, in writing. Then off to trading standards you go....
