Error involving wireless that will baffle Poirot

      Hi there,

ive been with SKY BB for about 7 months. (sky connect because sky max wasnt available my area last year)

Using the sky netgear GT router i can connect to the internet no problem. The only problem that has been coming up recently is with regard to online gaming.
In the last month or so whenever ive been in an online game of bf2142 i would sometimes get crashes where the screen freezes (and sound) and eventually i get a disconnect error. So i quit out of bf2142 program back to the desktop

after about 5 mins strangely enough my router says im now connected to sky (pop up box bottom right hand side) However i didnt get any message apart from the one from within the bf2142 program that i wasnt online. Because when i get chucked out of bf2141 the router/wireless light is still green and is "connected"

Also occasionally when the game freezes it wont go back to the server menu saying master server disconnect etc. Instead i will get the dread BSOD error message.

ive copy n pasted my router stats here

Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 5083763 4473578 0 1690 6447 161:05:33
      LAN 10M/100M 11026 0 0 2 0 161:34:42
      WLAN 11M/54M 3887 4325 0 1808 452 00:33:51
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8128 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 23.0 db 15.5 db
Noise Margin 16.3 db 27.0 db

Ive updated my graphics drivers (i have a dell laptop)
but this problem doest occur with offline games or web browsing.

Also tried changing the channel im on (currently on 7 b&G)

      anything else i can try?
Ive updated drivers on most things. i have xp sp2(updated).

Is it perhaps something to do with being moved onto the sky max package? This happened in the last 2 months.
      thanks for any help

Doesnt even look asif you are on ADSL2+ (Used for MAX) As with an attenuation of 23.0db and a pretty nice line, You should be able to get ~15Mb,

Could you post full router stats please.

See; Sky Netgear DG834GT utility version 0.4
" detailed modem statistics" and follow the prompts and paste the contents of the file.

Re: Error involving wireless that will baffle Poirot

i have a suspicion myself its to do with the wireless connection or router. I have an ethernet cable (got it with sky) so should i try a wired connection to see if it makes any difference? (most of the time the wireless signal quality is excellent tbh)
