AFAIK, the Usage Caps are for total download *and* upload, not just download.

      Re: Enforcing download limits

      I'm not 100% sure, but...

Sky don't call it a "download limit" though, they call it a "Usage Cap". If it was just download, why not call it a "Download Cap".

Only place I can find anything on it is the Broadband Terms -

If you subscribe to a Product that has a cap on the amount of data that you download or upload each month (“Usage Cap”), your usage must not exceed that Usage Cap each month.
I can't find anything else on it, but it does suggest it includes upload usage too.

I'm on Max, so don't actually bother keeping track of my usage, tbh, as it's meant to be "unlimited". Can't be bothered monitoring everything on the network, when there isn't a specific cap anyway.

But I have seen DUMeter mentioned a fair few times here & elsewhere

      Download DU Meter (English)

There are also plenty of others.

I do think that Sky should provide the ability to check your usage via the Sky BB portal.

It's a bit silly IMO having usage limits, but not giving the customers the means to actually monitor their usage.

OK, so you can install something like DUMeter, but many people connect more than one thing to their router, and having a monitor app on each device is a pain & not always possible anyway... e.g. I've got a PC, a laptop, an Xbox360, an Xbox, & a Wii connected.

With my last ADSL ISP, Firefly, if I logged into my user control panel, as well as being able to check my account, check my billing, add/remove mailboxes, etc., etc., I could also check my usage, so I'd know whether I was getting close to the limit. Very handy feature.
