Migrating to sky - MAC help

Hi, was going to sign up to sky broadband max today but just saw these comments on the faq.

How do I switch to Sky Broadband if I already have broadband?
Please note that your MAC code should be 11 characters long and start with FTIP, BBDS or BBIP - Sky is unable to accept MAC Codes that start with 'L'.

Does Sky accept all MACs?
We can not accept a MAC if your existing broadband service is delivered via certain types of broadband networks.

I'm currently with plusnet going through the normal BT systems (not LLU) and have been given a MAC beginning with 'L'. Does anyone know if sky will accept this code.
Also if they don't, if I requested another mac after it expires would it begin with L again or are the codes made randomly.

SKY have not updated there wording of the MAC code format for some time and numerous permutations are now accepted including the one you have m8.

ABCD1234567/AB12C << Example of format

So long as it looks something like that it will be fine.

EDIT: If memory serves me correctly the current BT ones start with LLxx

Hi, I have a MAC code starting with the letter L, migration is in process, the chaps at sky didn't say anything was wrong with it

Same as mine when I migrated from Plusnet, you should have no problem As my countryman said, it has just not been updated. In fact, all MACs must be accepted now, whether they are actually used, is another story.
