Please help (wireless access)
I have reciently moved from Virgin media broadband where i managed to setup my own wireless network without any problems what so ever. However i have a problem with the netgear modem/router on sky.
What i am trying to do is setup my games consoles for online access.
I have an:
Xbox 360 - with official wireless adapter
Nintendo Wii
Nintendo DS
All consoles find the network and get a great signal but just can't connect to it, i have been trying to get this working for about a month now.
I am starting to wonder if i need to do anything on my PC for the modem/router to accept the signal.
All that has been done is when i got the kit from sky followed the setup instructions and ran the cd and i got an internet connection. Do i need to create a wireless network on my pc in order for the games consoles to get the signal?
I have tried doing this (start, control panel, wireless setup wizard) i go through all that then it tells me to add the information to the devices manually (which i do) but i still can't connect.
Please help
PS my modem gets very hot is this nornal?

Yes one of the features of a Netgear, in the box that the router came in there are 2 white plastic clips, attach these to the router so that it can stand up.PS my modem gets very hot is this nornal?

Re: Please help (wireless access)
The Sky router is set up to use WPA encryption as default. The first question that needs to be asked is whether any or all of your games consoles support WPA encryption? Forgive me if this sounds a stupid/obvious question as I'm not an gamer so I have no idea. Secondly, if your consoles do support WPA encryption then are you entering the correct network key when trying to establish a wireless connection to the router? Entry of an invalid key will prevent a proper connection being established.

Are your consoles showing in the router as attached devices? Do you have UPnP enabled? Try reserving the consoles MAC addresses in the LAN IP Setup.
