      ime conecting wireless to pc,i keep getting low speedtests.

      enthernet to laptop i get about 6000 kbps on speedtests.

      this is what i get now on my pc, please help me.

      383 downstream upstream 630 latency 106 ms server dublin distance 200 mi

      you need to sort out your speeds whilst connected via ethernet as well as you are getting 6000, but synching at 15000.

      Have you used the optimiser (see link in my sig)?

      thanx for everyones help so far,
      i used the optimiser and got 8700 kbs on my laptop vie enthernet,

      i tried my laptop wierless and got 1500 kbs

      pc wierless i got 600 kbs


      it looks to me like the problem is wireless, but does anyone know a fix for this because i can not wier my pc up due to being in another room, my usb adapter is a netgear 54 mbps wg111v2, if i got a 108 mbs adapter would it fix my problem?

      where abouts is the usb adapter in relation to the PC?

      Have you got it plugged directly into a usb port or are you using a usb extension cable.

      You may find that if you move the USB adapter away from the PC that your speeds increase.

      When I used a usb directly in the USB port, the connection was very very poor. I then used a usb extension cable and had it resting on top on the PC (above the PSU) and this was equally as bad. Then moving it away from the box solved the problem as the electronics from the PC box were interfering with the wireless signal (and that was with the netgear 108mbps usb adapter).
