      Broadband availability oddity

      Hi,

Noticed that if I go to the Sky Breoadband site and do an availability check then I get offered BB for 5 per month.

If I go via the 26 deal and do a check it tells me that it's not currently available in my area, and I would be charged 17 per month. Now I'm confused - any suggestions?

      Cheers

      The Broadband Resource

Try Sam Knows and see if Sky is available on your exchange, if it isn't and if your exchamge is going to be LLU'D within the next 6 months you will usually get offered the 5 price.

When you go via the Broadband site what product does it offer you - Connect ?

The only way you are going to know for certain is to phone Sky.

      Thanks for the reply.

I use the samknows site regularly, but there is no sign of Sky LLU coming to our exchange except for BE in June.

The two checker results come from:

Sky Broadband - which gives Normal 17 but 5 in your area with a 20 connection charge - I think it's the connect version.

http://mysky.sky.com/portal/site/skycom/shop/products - which gives me Not in your area bt 17 a month connection 40

I am just waiting for a little longer with my current provider to be out of contract and then I will apply - but on the above basis the best deal seems to be go for the BB separately at a fiver a month and get the TV package independently.

      Cheers

You have to have a Sky TV package to get their broadband. Try phoning them, there is usually a number given to phone, ask for the full bundle. Make sure you are going to get the 5 option and get them to confirm it several times. Record it if possible. There are a few who have fallen into the 17 trap!

Contrary to a few peoples definition of the 5 Connect package this is only available for peoples exchanges due to be upgraded before June 30th.

      Not within 6 months.

When I changed over to the 5 Connect package it stated quite clear on mine that it was this price because my exchange was due to be upgraded before the end of July, not June
