Migrated and 0_o
ello.
I have just migrated from Tiscali over to Sky as I read good reports on many folks getting well over the 10mb connection with the max package .
"Ill have some of that !" i thought , and so...
.. almost 3 months (yes thats right!) and im connected , however , I seem to be connected at 3mb from a package description of "up to 16mb".
I migrated from a perfect 8128/468 connection with tiscali to a connection with sky at 3000/768 .
Im no gimp and have done all the usual stuff and needless to say im asking for advice here before i spend the next 12 weeks trying to get through to yet another cruddy tech support team .
Is there any secrets or sound advice on where I should start or go to start trying to get a better connection .
A few bits of info are i live 150m from exchange , my snr is good and have a 9db margin set . i get decent pings , no drops and a perfect download speed and upload speed on which my modem reports i connect at (i had a perfect 8mb dl with tiscali) .
I want to stay with sky and hate the thought of having to move again and so im hoping some uber advice is inbound !
Thanks in advance

Re: Migrated and 0_o
Couple of things to try:
Locate and try the test socket
http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/view-master.html
Then post your stats from the test socket as per this thread
http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/view-routerstats.html
So we can see what you are syncing at.

Re: Migrated and 0_o
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 3008 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 9.0 db 9.0 db
Noise Margin 32.4 db 13.0 db
the noise margin figures are higher than I had when connected to tiscali (was around 21db then on the downstream if that helps).
I will test my master socket later today and post those results too.
Thanks
