      it really does amaze me why people give up cable for ADSL

      okay i admit have both however i am on sky now for surfing etc and the radio and will goto cable for downloading stuff

      dosent work for me fails on username
      Did you use the username obtained from the router? The one you use for the portal, email etc., will not work.

      Unlike the OP, your stats are showing a very large amount of errors. This could have various causes, but if you go to http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/speed...etter-results/

      and http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/cabling-faceplate-help/

      Follow the various tips and see if you can get rid of the errors.

      Any news yet buff?

      I'm waiting for sky tier 2 to phone us back, after lengthy calls with BT they reckon our line is all good. but they said they "recognise a fault somewhere"

      Also our socket has no test socket, but BT told us that was ok and the main socket was the master socket.

      so it looks like its sky's end, and we are still no different from before

      upstream: 288 kbps
      downstream: 288 kbps <-ARGH

      sounds like me and my situation where i have just chnaged from Virgin/NTL for same reasons and my connection is very slow. check my stats, I just dont know how to sort it anymore, Iv probably spent over 100 on the phone bill alone

      You are not on a DSLMAX profile you are on a rateadaptive 250 profile this can be change by technical support not sure which tier can do this tho hope this helps
