Is there an IP assigned to the box?

click start > click run > type CMD > in command prompt ( black box ) type ipconfig and press enter, is there an ip, subnet and default gateway.

Try inserting them manually to see what happens, do u know how to do that?

      if not let me know

      put ip as 192.168.0.2
      subnet as obviously 255.255.255.0
      gate way as 192.168.0.1
      and DNS server 192.168.0.1

      Re: Whos to blame?

ok go to your networks connection page in the control panel, look for the Local Area Connection and right click on it then select properties, in there is a box that has internet protocol ( tcp/ip ) left click on it once 2 make it go blue, then select properties underneath it, in there at the top it will probably say obtain ip address automatically, put a dot beside Use the following and type in the ip subnet and gateway i wrote on previous post in the box that pops up, when ur done it will ask for DNS server, put that in too, no secondary server, click ok/ apply until your back onto network connection page, close the page then go to desktop, open browser and see wat happens.

yes got error 300, "could not detect internet connection"

I had trouble for the first 3 days when I changed to sky, but at least I could get onto the internet.

      Re: Whos to blame?

p.s if error code 300 still shows after power cycling the router for 40 minutes, it may be a more serious issue at the exchange, i.e tiepairs.
