Re: How do I know I have got Sky bb ?

Just spoke to BT Wholesale directly, after reading a similar scenario - funnily enough from someone who had their migration within a few days of mine and in a similar geographical location (South Wales).

In that case, Sky had been connected to the line but because of some BT fault the previous provider was not removed - causing a blockage of Sky. This had supposedly affected a number of people.

Anyway, the very nice woman at BT Wholesale stated that in my case Sky had indeed been connected on the given date but for some reason AOL were still on the line - which would explain my problem. She went to speak to someone and when she came back she said that "on this occasion" she could order a termination of AOL from the line. I asked how it could have happened and she said she wasn't sure, but it could 'possibly' have been a BT fault - or something (very diplomatic response). Hopefully, this will clear the problem - although it will take up to 7 days to find out.

Moral of the story: if you want to know what is truly 'on your line', give the BT Wholesale Helpline a call - on 0800 169 9576. It's worth publishing this number somewhere 'sticky', as I had trouble getting hold of it.
