      Sky Have Lost 4500 Routers!!!

I am still waiting for my router and found this on MONEYSAVINGEXPERT.com

      Quoting the letter

I purchased Sky Broadband basic package for 40 on 15th August - the router to plug into my pc was supposed to take no more than 5 working days. Today 2nd September Im still waiting!
Sky tell me they have lost 3 or 4,000 routers somewhere! They say Unipart produce them and Parcelforce deliver them and they don't know or have no way of finding out what is happening. I find it incredible that a company like Sky cannot ascertain this information which makes me suspect that all is not right! Anyone ordering Sky Broadband needs to be aware that there are delays!!

So what is goung on (that should be going)

Activation day has arrived and still no router so I called Sky

"Provisioning....lost routers....parcelline problem....check it for you ....call you back ....yada,yada,yada"

It really appears to be a complete shambles.

I honestly don't think anyone knows for sure what is going on.

      Angry

      Hi

thanks for letting us know what's going on. We've been waiting weeks and weeks, made at least ten phonecalls, increasingly angry, have been told three different routers have been sent out, but, surprise surprise, none have ever arrived.

Apparently our complaint has now been passed to a supervisor, who will be getting back to me Friday (watch me not hold my breath on this one).

Shambles is a word I'd use: a few more are useless, unacceptable, brewery and *****-up...

Is there a pattern to this somewhere? i.e. Are routers failing to arrive in specific areas of the country?

I signed up on 23rd September & had my router on the 28th Sept........I'm still waiting for broadband but thats a different story.

I wonder if maybe the mods can set up a survey to gauge what geographical areas & being affected by router deliveries or something..........just a thought

Well I have got my router, but Sky say they haven't sent it yet!
Because I have been waiting so long - since 15th August, the system has apparently cancelled my order, so I now have to wait for them to set me up again - this is costing me a fortune, both in calls to sky, and dial up internet calls.

This thread was opened on 7th September, nearly 3 months ago.

So I would not accept this as a reason for the delay in routers anymore.

As for Easynet been robbed, that was ages ago and hardly anything was taken at all, despite the press reporting otherwise. In fact hardly any customers noticed anything was wrong.
