    Random Disconnection

      Random Disconnection

      hi i randomly get disconnected theres no pattern or nothing.

      Just got disconnected now at 22:48pm im on northern exchange any one else have problems i jumped into my router stats n got this:-

      whilst disconnected.....22:49pm

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed 1856 kbps 416 kbps
      Line Attenuation 15.5 db 31.5 db
      Noise Margin 7.4 db 14.0 db

      connected now....22:59pm

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed 1856 kbps 416 kbps
      Line Attenuation 53.0 db 31.5 db
      Noise Margin 6.1 db 13.0 db

      ne ideas wat problem could be maybe routine exchange check going on?

      Hi

      Try turning off the UPnP in your router

      Towards the bottom of that it mentions it, turn it off and let us know how you get on.

      why does the attenuation go high? is that a good thing? also should the noise margin be that low? ive read that post but still didnt get it...ne ideas?

      It is a bug in the Sky software which shows up fairly often. If you do a search on the forum for 15.5 bug, you will find dozens of references. Rebooting the router usually clears it.

      lookin at what you posted your line needs looked at. noise margin of 6.1 on the downstream is a bit low and can cause issues. as for the atten, thats a bug.


      Raise a ticket for a intermittant connection and your line will be looked at and adjusted.
