      Installed Yesterday & Problems

Hi, yesterday the engineer from sky came and gave us a router, installed it all and it seems to be working.

However, upon using speedtest at adslguide it turns out i have a 150kb/s downstream and 790 upstream. We are signed up for the MAX package and live no more than 500m as the crow flies from the exchange so im assuming it should probably be going faster

The username and pw Sky sent me a few weeks ago when confirming doesnt seem to work on their site, in any case or format, i cant use outlook express for the email even after putting the correct pop3 and smtp adresses in, found at digital spy, because it simply rejects my username and password. I can't login into the Sky site so i cant set accounts up or anything so im at a loss at what to do really.

My blueyonder contract is officially "switched off" tomorow but as its cable and not adsl i can't see how its interfering, but this is the only possible reason i can see for the ridiculously slow speeds and constant dropping of connection.

If anyone has had the same experience or knows of anything i can do please let me know because as it is im left with an extremely poor quality connection and no email.

you're not even syncing at a 2mb speed, could be a noise or attenuation problem. log back into your router and click the "show statistics" button at the bottom. Paste the second table

Looks like you have a very noisy line.

What does www.samknows.com say about your possible speed ADSL Max speed.

      Click on Availability Checker
      Put your phone number in
      Click on BT ADSL

ADSL is available in your area
Your exchange is also enabled for ADSL Max services

According to BT Wholesale, your line should be able to support a 5.5Mbps or greater ADSL connection via ADSL Max.

      Standard ADSL RAG results:
      You can receive 2Mbps ADSL
      You can receive 1Mbps ADSL
      You can receive 512Kbps ADSL
      You can receive 256Kbps ADSL

According to BT Wholesale, your line should be able to support a 4Mbps or greater ADSL connection via ADSL Max.

You are approximately 1.44km from the exchange (straight line distance).

There appears to a compatibility issue with your phone line. This could be caused by an existing DSL connection, ISDN, a DACS unit, TPON, a pending ADSL order or many other common issues. This will need to be resolved before ADSL can be supplied to your line.
