hi all just got my sky plus today along with my new 42 inch samsung plasma tv so it's been a pretty good day. any way i phoned up to order my sky broadband(with virgin at the moment) and was amazed to hear that my download speed would be 512, well at the moment i've got 4mb and was expecting 8 or better, the sky guy said it could be because my bt has only been running for 2 days and might not be in the system properly, on running a check i saw i was 950 metres from the bt exchange. anyone have any thoughts on this? i hope this is the reason as i won't be to happy if its slower than what i have just now.
its good to find a site like this and will be reading through the forums tonite.
i'm an apple man with a 20inch imac and i'll tell you it beats any windows machine, hope theres a few mac lovers on here!!!!!!!!

Re: sky newbie
The DSL check used by SKY is via BT software and are only estimates, I was informed my line would be 3.5meg yet it is capped at 8meg and I d/l from NG's at 8meg.
Take from that what you want
