Sky trying to charge me 17

Just got a letter from Sky saying my bill monthly is now 70.50 compared to the 53.50 i used to pay before Broadband.

I am in a 5 connect area, is this a common mistake of theirs?

      From their checker:

Fast download speeds and a massive usage allowance can now be yours with Sky Broadband Connect. Normally it would cost you 17 per month. But Connect is available in your area right now for just 5 per month – plus a one-off broadband activation fee of 20.

Also when i called up and ordered i was told 5

If that's on a letter received for billing you, it should say somewhere that the prices are 'not including special offers' or something similar.

You may also find that are billed 17 and credited with 12.

I had the same and a quick phone call sorted everything out for me. I would advise you do the same just to be sure.

I know this may sound like crazy talk, but how about giving Sky a quick call?

There is no quick call when calling Sky, my bill already this month has 20 of calls to them sorting my router/connection.

Was just wondering if it was a common mistake in the letter they send out before i ring.

Re: Sky trying to charge me 17

I know when people phone the Sky Broadband Support number they have a long old wait but everytime I've ever called the general Sky customer services number they've always been pretty quick to answer and address my query.

The reason I suggest calling Sky, is simply because no matter what has happened to anyone else, your situation may be different and it would be best to speak directly with a Sky representative regarding your billing.

As mentioned above calling the general customer services number should get you through in just a few minutes (normally)

That is spot on, these letters do not take into account any discounts you have, for example the 5 fee for your broadband or if you have any discounts on any of the television packages. I had the same problem when I first started with Broadband but my first bill was spot on.

Why they can't send these letters out with the correct amount to stop this confusion is beyond me.

To check if you are on being billed correctly for your broandband you can log into My Profile at the Sky Portal and check out 'Sky Shop' as it will show you everything you are paying sky for - both TV and broadband.
