      Unhappy Help!!!

hi, im new to sky broadband....and have signed up to that speak see surf package which includes sky+ (sky sports etc), a telephone package & 8mb broadband (mid).

The sky+ and telephone stuff was installed by the engineers from sky.

The broadband was installed by my brother....because we werent patient enough to wait till 16th april for the sky installation!

anyway...we have 2 computers connected to the internet

the problem i have is simple:

MY FIREFOX/EXPLORER SPEED IS PERFECT...BUT FOR DC++/TORRENTS (OR ANY P2P PROGRAMS) HAVE SUCH A poor SPEED ITS UNBELIEVABLE...

with NTL 4mb broadband...my download speeds regularly touched 370kb/s....and since i`ve had sky (which has been a week or so) they havent even gone above 10 kb/s

THESE ARE THE RESULTS I HAVE GOT FOR SPEED TESTS:

      Current Connection (from NetgeaR)

      DownStream Connection Speed 8128 kbps
      UpStream Connection Speed 448 kbps

Namesco BroadbandMax ADSL Broadband Bandwidth speedtest | Test your ADSL Broadband connection speed

      DOWNLOAD SPEED: 5842 KBPS
      UPLOAD SPEED: 381 KBPS

the BT EXCHANGE is 1.12 KM....basically round the corner

if anyone can help me with my problem i would be very grateful!

      thanks in advance

      Re: Help!!!

Have you opened the ports for the P2P program you are using?

Here is a guide to set up Azureus

      Re: Help!!!

You will still need to add the custom rule for the port that you use for Azureus
