      Hi
If Sky have capped you it is certainly nothing to do with your downloads and limits. They have not reprimanded anyone so far.

There has to be a reason, try posting your stats:

Mod Edit (Tezcatlipoca) - Private info, such as MAC address & IP address, removed (along with unnecessary stuff).

      Modem Status Connected
      DownStream Connection Speed 608 kbps
      UpStream Connection Speed 448 kbps

Those speeds are a lie lol

You have missed a bit off them

      http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/view-master.html

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7487 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 46.0 db 29.3 db
Noise Margin 6.1 db 7.0 db

You have a wiring problem, sort that out you should be fine.

      Also try this

      Optimising your Broadband Connection

With a Line Attenuation of 63.5 db you must be a long way from the exchange or have a very bad line. You could try the 'quiet line test' and see if you have a noisy line. Dial 17070 and select option 2. Your line should be dead quiet with no pops whistles or buzzes, if it is not, call BT and tell them you have a noisy line. Don't mention Broadband.

Re: IP conflict then download speed dropped to 1/4

      Have a read of http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/speed...explained.html

From that, ~2000kbps is the max. you could get with your attenuation.

As mentioned previously, if you sort out your internal wiring (if that's the cause of the noise problem), then you should get closer to your max. (i.e. like what the test socket gives you) instead of only 608kbps.

Usual fixes... remove the ring wire, re-do extensions if you have to use extensions, fit a filtered faceplate, etc.

      See here: http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/cabling-faceplate-help/
