Your line is noisy, *and* you have a really high attenuation.

The higher the attenuation, the lower the max. speed you can get.

The lower the noise margin, the lower the speed.

From that, ~2000kbps is the max. you could get with your attenuation.

As mentioned previously, if you sort out your internal wiring (if that's the cause of the noise problem), then you should get closer to your max. (i.e. like what the test socket gives you) instead of only 608kbps.

Usual fixes... remove the ring wire, re-do extensions if you have to use extensions, fit a filtered faceplate, etc.

      See here: http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/cabling-faceplate-help/

the master socket atully gives me a slower speed why is my upload faster than my download.
How do i fix wireing ?

I should have said, if you do the 'quiet' test, do it from the test socket, as this rules out internal wiring.

There is no 10 day test on Mid - Only Connect

Your router shows a sync of just under 2mb, did you try the optimiser thread?

Using the test socket, you got a download sync speed of 1952kbps, whereas via your normal connection (extension?), you only got 608kbps.

Where did you get those other values from, the "download is now 124 up 247"?

The results from your test socket suggest that it is your internal wiring that is probably at fault. The test socket bypasses the extension wiring - using the test socket, your router synched at around the max. speed you could get for your attenuation (subject to noise).

Check the links in my post. One explains stats such as attenuation & noise margin, the other is a link to the cabling & faceplate forum here, which has lots of info on improving your internal phone wiring.

As NewsreadeR said, there is no 10 day training period with Mid - that is only on the "Connect" service (as it's a re-sold BTWholesale ADSLMax product).

If the test socket gives better results, then it suggests it's your extensions/wiring etc. that are the problem - not Sky or BT.

yea i dont get that the speed i atully get is way lower than the speed the router claims i had. I looked into the speed optimising it sugested a mtu of 1500 which i allready have it set at. i got no improvement by running TCPOptimiser :-(

speed test.com gives me this even tho my router claims far higher speeds?

How do you know you don't get that speed?

What speed tests have you done?

The test socket only gave me a better result in the router stats the atully performance was worse. My internet is atully faster runing off the extension than the test socket acording to speedtest.com but both are bad by the standard i had a few days ago

Re: IP conflict then download speed dropped to 1/4

Tried the optimising link posted earlier by NewsreadeR?

      Tried any other speed tests?

Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test

      DSL ZoneUK - Speed test

Namesco BroadbandMax ADSL Broadband Bandwidth speedtest | Test your ADSL Broadband connection speed

How do you connect your PC to the router? Ethernet or wireless?

When you run the speed tests, do you have anything else downloading at the same time - e.g. any P2P stuff like BitTorrent - or anything?

Whatever the cause of the slow download speeds, there are certainly noise problems that you can at least sort out to get a higher sync speed....
