[SkyBB Wireless] Undecisive on thread subforum

Hey, im a newbie here but everyone starts off.

We had sky put in a good 2 weeks ago and having alot of problems with everything -.-

Broadband, we ordered max and everything comfirmed etc etc when we rang up to have it activated they told us it was not available in our area. (Yet the website said our phone number was available for the max, and my uncle who lives 2 roads away has it.)

So they gave us the middle one untill Monday(the 9th) (Supposedly upgraded to max)

O well thats boring so. The problem is we have 4 internet connected in our house.

My Laptop works with LAN, the wirless card is crappy on my laptop and could give errorneus(Spelling?) results.

My desktop (Directly above router) Works fine on wireless,

My sisters pc ( next door to my room) Gets constant disconnects on the router (Instantly drops the connection)

My dads pc (Closest to the router) Can sometimes connect but it drops the connection every 10 mins if he can get on, sometimes instantly.

We are all using Belkin wireless adapters, my adapter doesnt work on the other computers, and vica versa.

      Code:

Tech support was a alod of BS. "Please log on 192... Whilst on the computer that cannot access the router"

      Edit
Download speed is >350kbs, im unsure why this is, the nearest telephone exchange is "You are around 620 metres from your exchange" which shouldnt cause 8mb down to 300kb on average?

Firstly have a search on the site about uPnP. This is known to cause disconnects and people find it better to switch it off (in the router pages).

secondly, as you have so many PCs it would be a good idea to assign an IP address to each PC so that you avoid IP conflicts.

The alarming thing is your stats:

      Max(Kbps): 9088 1112
      Rate (Kbps): 288 288

the 288 is a big problem as it should be more like 8000 and 400 respectively.

You could try the BT test socket (see my sig for the link), but I think it's one for Tier 3 I'm afraid.
