Help !!! Can Line Support ADSL2+?

      Dear Sky Users

I have recently signed up to the Sky Broadband Max Service after 12 months with Bulldog. I'm dissapointed that my connection and download speeds are not what quite I expected.

I contacted Sky and was informed that my connection isn't capped and it is most likely that my line is unable to handle speeds above the rate of my current connection. I was advised to contact Customer Services as they would be able to tell me whether my line is capable of handling a 'higher rate'.

I haven't contacted Customer Services yet as I thought I would post my query on the forum for an opinion first! I have pasted my modem stats below (I trust this is okay...I am a relative newbie).

      Can anyone advise me?

      Many Thanks, Reggie

      Hi

      Rate (Kbps): 8096 768
You should be getting up to 8mb down (less overheads)

Re: Help !!! Can Line Support ADSL2+?

Despite what Sky told you, you do definitely seem to be capped, to me.

      8096kbps on G.DMT/Interleave, despite a nice low attenuation of 23dB, & a noise margin of 12.6dB.

Your attenuation is low enough for you to get the full 16mbps, subject to noise.

And no errors at all, from 1hr 19min uptime.

Have a read of these for more stuff on stats:

Re: Help !!! Can Line Support ADSL2+?

I think im in the same boat though my attenuation is 42 and noise it about 8, the most it will connect at is 8096, according to the graphs i have been looking at this should be up to 10 which i would be happy with :/
