      @GPKing

      Only just realised - Freeserve/Wanadoo/Orange use a proxy. You have checked that this is disabled? Do you have static IP addresses specified? Do you want to buy a new PC? Do you want to buy a NOD32 license?

      lol LNB

      I dont remember having to specify a proxy in IE when on Wanadoo. IE certainly not configed to use one.

      Bought my PC just over 12 months ago, Mrs certainly wouldnt like the idea of me buying a new one already

      I'll stick with my free CA eTrust license, thanks anyway

      This may be totally unconnected, but a while ago I suddenly started getting lots of problems with my router, where it would just stop for no reason.. no net, couldn't ping it etc

      After alot of trouble-shooting with a friend, he finally suggested a new network card.. and it's been fine since. Might just be worth a try...?

      MJMoore,

      Thanks for the suggestion, but I am experiencing the problems with both a desktop PC and a laptop.

      I am going to see what happens when I get my replacement router. Incidently, Mrs just been on phone - recieved a letter from Mark Anderson, Customer Marketing Director at Sky this morning. The letter apologises for the delay in getting the router to me and says that I will receive it on the 9th
      Strange thing though is the wording kind of suggests that I haven't had a router yet - I have and Sky reckon it is faulty. Also, they are crediting my account with 10.
      Given the above, could this be a generic letter that they are sending out to loads of people? Has anyone else recieved such a letter?
