2 houses but only 1 router

I've got sky broadband at my main residence and have just had it installed at my second place. Typically the modem for the second residence has not turned up (Sky assured me it would be delivered within the next 3 working days but a week has passed)
Can I use the modem from my main residence to connect to the internet at my second residence and then will I be able to get my password and username.
Is the password and username relevant to the modem or specific to my account with sky.

I would have thought that you can use your router at your 2nd home as long as the line is active there.
If you are trying to get the username and password to use in a different router at your 2nd place then I'm not sure if that would work as if you were also using the original at your 1st place then that username would already be logged in - it might not let the 2nd online ( not sure about this tho ) try it and see ?
      cheers
