    Missed Payment

    This is a discussion on Missed Payment within the Sky Broadband help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; On the 13 of January i missed my sky payment of 60 and i payed a few days latter but ...

      Exclamation Missed Payment

      On the 13 of January i missed my sky payment of 60 and i payed a few days latter but that did not matter to sky in that time they had cut off my phone cannceld sky digital and sky broadband and told bt to re-takeover my line

      on phone them i was told that if i miss a payment that what happens as i explained to them i have missed it by 48 due to unforcean payments (Flood in basement) so after much deliberation they aggred to re-connect me free and once i had payed my bill shore enought Sky digital came back on and was told phone and broadband would take around 72 hours so a bit peved but i thought ok


      Now 3rd of April i have no phone was told will be on by the 10th of april (bt confirmed this)

      BRoadband: when they canneled it they messed up big time everytime i ring they say "It will be on in another 72 hours" so again i wait and nothing . For the last month all there computer says is Canceling (and they say they carnt do anything) what should i do i have no idea where to turn or wha to do

      any help would be great

      Unfortunatley, Sky can do just about whatever they want if a payment is missed, but I have to say that I would strongly consider dropping them and moving to a different supplier for this. Phone them up and tell them that for failure to supply you are immediately terminating service with them and see what they say. I can't see that they can object! Then move to one of the many other companies that offers a telephone and internet service.

      Can you reccomend any other good fast companys as my speed with sky was fast im not too fussed about phone just want fast broadband and low cost

      There is only one other company that I know that offers broadband really cheap, and that is TalkTalk. They are a good company, but they have suffered a bit recently from too many customers!! Basically they insist on you taking out their call plan which is 8.99 pcm, but then broadband is free. There are dozens of companies that offer broadband at around 18 pcm. Talk Talk will handle everything, so all you need is one phone call to them to set everything up.

      tbh, Whoever in the administrations department put the "hold" orders in did it wrong and now your account is in pending cancellation, So there is nothing they can really do on terms of re-ordering, Even with a new ISP, As this cancellation period will still be there.

      so what your saying is even if i move to say talktalk i would still be held up by sky pending cancellation?

      Yes, It looks like thats where this "72hrs" is heading, As once our subscription payment was delayed/missed, Sky put a PROPER hold on the system, Which just stops you from connecting to the network which gives the CHAP error.
      This can be taken of just as easy as put on.

      But by the looks of things, It seems that they went about doing a full disconnection, Which I have heard happened to people when there massive bills 100+ havent been payed for months.

      So in other words, As Sky or any other BT Line Based ISP is concerned, If it is in Pending Cancellation, You will have to wait this process before anything happens.

      Yes You'll need a Migration Auth Code from SKY...
      And you'll have to wait for It!

      Nope, Too late, If (It looks - So) the account is in pending cancel it is too late to obtain a MAC, As the MAC step happens before the cancel.
