      NO BT Telephone after install

      Hi, I have just been setup with Sky broadband and Sky TV. the 26 package.

      First off I am very happy with how everything went (from Skys side). Router came promptly, TV man came on day they said and Broadband was enabled on the day Sky said.

      Anyhow the TV man came to install the SKY TV but couldn't fininsh becuase the phone line had stopped working. The install happened on the same day as the line was being switched to Sky broadband. The broadband works fine but I have been left without a working telephone line!

      Has anyone else had this or heard of this happening?

      Sort of, I had broadband (MAX LLU) enabled on Monday 23 March and since then our 'phone line is extremely noisy and cuts off all incoming calls instantly without allowing the handset to even threaten to ring. BT has told us on various instances this last week that, it's a fault at the exchange and will be "sorted" soon, it's a faulty line, it's a problem with the Sky equipment and is very difficult to resolve, it might require an engineer visit as it's probably "something" in our home and finally,late Saturday morning, it's been passed to the engineers and they're looking into it - eh? They've had us disconnect all equipment and try again from the back of the master socket, no change.
      The only good points being that incoming calls have been diverted, free, to one of our mobiles and we can still call out, even if it's difficult to be heard through the noise (which sounds like a loud machine "hum").
      The broadband, btw, is fine and almost a full mb faster than my former provider

      Very unlucky that it happened on the same day you tried to install Sky tv.....

      Just to report back....

      BT fixed my line 2 days early. I have no idea what they did when they switched my broadband (was it on purpose!!!). Anyhow I now have phone, TV and broadband.

      Hoorah! Whereas my incoming calls are still being diverted to my mobile
