There are a couple of threads on the subject of pings and it would seem there are as many customers with pings over 50ms as there are with under 50ms.
As i use my pc for gaming, i am reluctant to sign up as theres obviously a 50/50 chance my pings could be over 50ms and i would be stuck for 12 months with pointless gaming.
Is there anything that can be done by Sky to lower the ping ,interleaving is one reason for high pings but I'm sure Ive read they do not take it off even if you request it.
Why are the pings so high for 50% of users is it due to lack of capacity?
This probably sounds trivial to all the non gamers reading this but if joining means crossing my fingers and hoping to get low pings then i wont be bothering.

I also get pretty unimpressive pings, but then again I'm on Connect so I wouldn't expect anything less. My pings fluctuate wildly between 20 and 150, never tried to play games online though. Would be quite amusing for about 2 mins...

I'm one those who regularly get pings around 15ms although, more generally 20 - 30ms.
I wish I could give them to someone else, because I'm not a gamer; they're a bit wasted on me.
Note I am also on connect, so I don't necessarily think that the problem always lies there.Asus P6T Deluxe - i7 920 @3.6GHz - 750GB Samsung F1 - 6GB OCZ Platinum 1600MHz - XFX GTX260 'Black Edition' - Tagan 1100W PSU - TT 'Big Water' 760i - Antec 1200 - Windows 7 64-bit - Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit

Sorry, it was more of a throwaway comment than anything! I'm just slightly bitter about paying £17/month for something that's costing everyone else £5/month. York is always the last place to get the new ADSL stuff! :-(
