      Just rang up Sky for the BB

      Just moved house to a area thats served by Sky yay. A check on samknows and dslzone confirm this and confirm distance from exchange which is showing as 261 metres.

      Had BT switched on and rang sky and they said i should be getting my code in 5-10 working days

      What speed should I get from 261 metres away

      Welcome to the site Mark

      Sounds good to me as for the speed it should be very good but until you are connected you will never know as only thing people can do is guess.

      Good luck.
      Ray

      Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

      What does samknows.com say about your possible speed on ADSL Max.

      Also are you able to post your line stats?

      Samknows reports this

      According to BT Wholesale, your line should be able to support a 6.5Mbps or greater ADSL connection via ADSL Max.

      That's good. I'm also with blueyonder and BT show 4.5Mb for my line.

      I have Sky activated tomorrow (Hopefully)

      @Mark

      This forum does like to log you out quite often but if you have a form filler ie. RoboForm a quick visit to the home page will get you logged back on.

      Mark what browser are you using, i have been logged into this site since it started (over a month) without having to ever sign in.

      This is on IE6, Firefox, Opera, on 3 home pcs and 4 at work.

      The secret i think is to use the box on the homepage at the top in the middle column, and tick the remember me button. This appears to be happening to a handful of people, but we cant see where the problem is. The only other thing it could be is security settings for browser or a firewall.
