      Question Sky Broadband Connection

Can anyone suggest a solution for my need to reboot the Sky router in order to be reconnected - every time I switch on my Windows XP PC or restart?

I am hardwired to the router via an Intel PRO/100 ethernet card.

Are you getting disconnected from the internet?

      Re: Sky Broadband Connection

The router should not need rebooting unless you have problems on your line.
Logging on and off your PC should not affect the connection.
If you are having disconnection problems you could use Mossywells router bouncer.
You could monitor your connections with router stats (Internet Software), both tools have the facility to reboot the router manually (Router Bouncer is designed do it automatically).

PLEASE READ FIRST: How to obtain and post router stats

      Re: Sky Broadband Connection

Thanks for the advice - but the problem only happens when I turn on or restart my PC - it has never (yet) disconnected once I have established an internet connection after rebooting the router - so I cannot say I have disconnection problems, but I do have connection problems!

I am not convinced that this is a router hardware (or firmware) problem, but I have got another router winging it's way (well maybe!) from Sky, just in case.
