Why has my sync speed dropped?

      hey,

Joined Sky back in Sept last year, always had a great connection on Connect - 8128 down & 448 up, line attenuation down about 25 & SNR around 7-9. Download speed always used to be about 7-7.3meg.

About a month ago, this all changed and can't seem to get any better than 7136 down, SNR is always now about 14-15.... cant understand whats happened.

Tried reboots, nothing has changed with internal wiring - always been the same, I've replace the master socket with a proper adsl splitter faceplate - did that ages ago.

Whats happened? Why have I lost a meg!

I would ring sky to find out as I had a problem where my line noise doubled and my speed went form 15323-12289-9822-8922, something wasn't right so rang them ,told would get a phone call in 5 days but got nothing then rang again was told would here in 5 days, once again nothing so wrote a letter and got it sorted line noise has halved and speed is now 14322 , I found out that teir 3 had capped me due to errors which they got from the router you may find the same, on another not what time of day at night speed does drop and goes up during day, have you tried rebooting router during day to see if any different.

Yeah I have tried several times in the day... always the same, maybe I should give them a call?

I know that no-one on Sky cust services would have a clue what I'm saying though, is there not a number to go directly to tier 2 or 3?

Re: Why has my sync speed dropped?

I tried contacting Tier 3 via the 0870 number as the free one does not work, was always told the line is very busy and you could wait 45 minutes, now I email them via BroadbandCustomerService@BSkyB.com and 3/4 days later I get a reply and they seem to come through and sort problems out.

Good luck keep us posted what the outcome is.
