Post Moving Exchanges, is it possible?

      Hi folks,

I live in a small village (Byers Green) and am a long way from my exchange (Bishop Auckland). Curiously there are actually two exchanges that are a lot closer to me (and the village), namely Spennymoor and Willington.

My question is this - with Sky placing their own equipment in the exchanges is it possible to actually move my line to another exchange resulting in me actually being closer and subsequently receiving a faster and more stable connection. I constantly lose connection due to the line length (I think I'm on the edge of getting it)

      Any ideas people?

unsure about switching between different exchanges because remember DSL works through your bt line so techincally your phone with bt needs to be registered at the new exchange and sky SRT will need to cease and reprovision your line for DSL signal, its possible if the bt agreed but the time for this to happen will be longer than the time it takes easynet(sky tier 3) to fix the line/replacement equipment.

Easynet(sky tier 3) can if you are on base/mid or max package (onnet) do is switch your line from one DSLAM to another DSLAM (skys LLU) equipment within the exchange but they will not do this for everyone unless tier 3 OPS manger gets involved

      hope it helps

The only way you will be able to move to an Exchange which is closer is to move house within Spennymoor or Willington exchange areas as your current address is not within the cable routes of these other two exchanges.
