      hello, that sounds and looks exactly like my problem!!! turn off for 40mins, then turn off for 48 hours then wait foir tier 3 to sort it with BT like I am doing now. Not Impressed at all!!

      BTW go to saynoto0870 and use the geographical number for sky it'll save afew pennies

      Well, spoke to a 'very helpful' Indian chap who went through the script. Oh, and make sure you're not on Win98 as they refuse to go any further! (on an old laptop I was using so I could be direct connect to the router). Eventually got through it in about 20 mins and given a ticket number and a 3-5 day wait for tier 3.

      AAGGHH!!

      i've got the same problem here guys, not had an ip once since i've joined. basically was put through to tier 3, then told (had to ring, not contacted by them) that the line had to be calibrated or something and it would be 10 days, about 14 pass and no joy so i ring back and they have no idea, ask all the same questions and am put back to tier 3

      sounds like no-one there actually knows what this bloody problem is and there seems to be a lot of people having it.

      I'm having the same problems. Error code 300. No adsl address. Tier 3 didn't call me back within the 5 days so i called them and was told i was still in the queue and i should wait another 3 days... still waiting altho not so patiently anymore! Someone fix it before i cry!

      Well there seems to be quite a few people on here with very very similar, if not the same problem!! there's a chocolate watch on offer to the first erson to get a fix and share the knowledge!

      Seriously though is there any "body" that we can approach to get this sorted if there's enough of us?

      Called Skys dodgy call center again today. Standard issue drones were no help at all, i think they ran out of excuses in the end because they put me on hold and never came back! Called again and finally got put through to someone in the UK and as i have 1 day left of my cooling off period decided to cancel the stupid broadband before the contract kicks in. Just gotta wait for my MAC code and i'm back to Pipex YAY Oh and i suppose after making a formal complaint to Sky, Ofcom would be the body to complain to...       To be honest, I think Sky would drop 95% of the complaints if they gave out a username/password and allowed everyone to use a router/modem of their choice. The statement that using the same router makes it easier for CS just does not hold water. When the 1st line support, knows nothing but what they read from a sheet and 3rd line can take 5-10 days to get on to the problem is just not good enough.

      In saying that, I am very happy with my connection and have had good speeds with no drop outs, it is obvious from this forum, that many are not so lucky. There are probably many more having difficulties, who have not found their way to this forum.

      Alas this woudl have no bearing on this fault. Got the user/pass out of my Sky router, plugged it into my previous SMC Barricade, even put the MAC address in, and got to about the same point, PPoA is up an that's you're lot

      Thinking about giving them a ring first thing tomorrow to chase the ticket up, as 3 days will have expired this evening.

      From what I can gather Error 300 is fairly easy to fix, but needs to be done by T3. Keep phoning and it will be fixed. I think it means that your user/pass has not been entered in the system, which is usually done automatically, but sometimes needs manual intervention.
