      Stupid migration question..

      Hi,

This is probably a no brainer but.. I'm all migrated from Demon to Sky and everything is working fine. Does the fact I've migrated and Demon have turned their service off mean I've now cancelled my contract with them and don't need to pay anymore? (I'm asking because they've taken money from my account today, less the dialup charge, but I can't remember if I pay a month in advance or a month behind...).

Oh and according to my router here are my speeds..

      DownStream Connection Speed 14331 kbps
      UpStream Connection Speed 944 kbps

I would confirm with them directly ie give them a ring and make sure, if you pay by dd then make sure you cancel it so they can't take anymore.

If you pay by card, ask them at the same time to remove your card details

It is always good practise to advise your old ISP as soon as a migration has occurred. BT do this apparently but at their usual own pace! BB is usually paid in advance so you should be able to negotiate a refund from Demon.

I would definately cancel any direct debit, if you have one. They can invoice you for any money owed.

A friend of mine found their old ISP started taking the direct debit again months after they had changed providers! They have been told to prove when they cancelled in order to get their money back!!

Demon take it directly from my debit card so I'll need to try and get a refund, I'll also ask them how the managed to take money from a debit card that expired on the 08/06.. Not the first time they've done that!
