      new problem with rapidshare?

      Hey.
I remember a while back when there was a problem where sky broadband users couldn't download from rapidshare, but they seemed to sort this problem out.

Now I'm having a new problem though.
Whenever I try to download something from rapidshare, it either tells me I've gone over the limit for free users (not true), or sometimes that my ip address is already downloading a file. Also, curiously, the ip address it tells me is mine is not my actual ip.

What I was wondering is is anyone else having this problem? Is it a problem with sky/rapidshare, or is it a problem on my end?

      any help appreciated.

      G

      Re: new problem with rapidshare?

I have the same problem. It either says I have downloaded my limit for a free user, or it gives me "Your IP-address 212.134.155.211 is already downloading a file. You have to wait until it is finished."

I did a lookup of my IP address. Here's a screenshot of the info from my IP:

Then I did a lookup of the 212.134.155.211 IP address. Here's what came up.

It seems Easynet/Sky are blocking us from using Rapidshare.

      Re: new problem with rapidshare?

I've recently been having exactly the same problem - haven't been able to download for the past week!

Is anyone else still experiencing problems?

      Re: new problem with rapidshare?

I am pretty certain that this problem is purposely introduced by RS for Free Users to encourage the take up of Premium A/Cs.
Is seems to be a problem with files on certain RS Servers which seem always to generate these error messages.

      Re: new problem with rapidshare?

i had this for the first time last night, and it's only since they've changed the interface (with the speed clocks) that's it's happened so I think the post above might be right...

ah well, plenty of other sites out there...

This user also had the same problem:

      Easynet - Project Filtering?

I think the explanation by James67 in that thread makes sense. 212.134.155.211 is probably a transparent proxy, and some Rapidshare requests get sent through it so Sky/Easynet can filter out whatever it is they are trying to block.
