      freephone number down?

hi, im just wondering if the free phone number 0800 051 2595 for sky tech support is dead? its giving me an automated message saying the nubmer doesnt handle broadband tech support and that i have to ring 08702 40 40 40

now is that 08702 number gonna cost me? if so how much per min?

its ironic.. sky said to me on monday that they would ring the next day to do a line check cuz the bt server was down (?) so they cant do a check.. i thought id give em a ring today but like i said the nubmers dead

(ive reached level 2... was hoping to get the speed changed cuz they were puzzeled to y i was only getting 288kbps and not the full 8mb!)

Oh well looks like they have sussed that everyone is ringing the freephone line, we did get a few months out of it! 0870 = 7.91p a minute daytime 3.95p min evenings 2p a minute weekends.

It went last time and was back again quite quickly. If they have suddenly "cottened on" it took them a while to figure out that it was being used.

No it rings but when you press 1 for broadband help or 2 for other enquireys you just get a recorded message saying please ring the 0870 number.

      Re: freephone number down?

newsreader the number dials, it lets you select the options.. but when you select broadband services, it comes up saying "ring the other number... so we can charge you at a higher rate and keep you waiting on purpose because we need money to fund our business and that customer satisfaction isnt a business objective at the moment, and we dont think that it ever will be"

obviously i added the bit last bit but the point still stands, the number wont let you access bb tech support! maybe it will be back though

      Re: freephone number down?

I am seriously ****** off about this. Today suddenly my router would not sync. Turns out they have put my back onto G.DMT mode and capped my speed to 5mbps (I was getting 8mbps on ADSL2+!) I am unable to phone the 08700 number (Had them banned by BT for making to many calls to Demon, I spent over 300quid on support calls to demon constantly being put on hold for 40mins or so and then the line going dead)

To un-ban the number I will have to wait a week :@
