Can you no longer get through to any departments at all through the 0800 number? I mean even if you could get through to order status or something and say "Uhhh be this tech support?" they should pass you through. That number is the only free one we've got.

Silly question, but has anyone checked this number?

Although I understand the reasons that people are a bit miffed about the freephone number been pulled, I have had it pointed out to me that this number is been used to ring T3. I am not going to remove it, as the number is freely available on saynoto0870 and so would be pointless doing so. However I would like to point out, that this is adding to the workload of helping existing customers who have been given ticket numbers, and in effect is causing huge delays to people all ready in the system. Please bear that in mind and be prepared to wait in a long queue.

Someone has asked you to remove the number from the site? That sounds dreadful, they should really make sure their customer care issues are sorted out. I'm on the phone to that number at the moment. Calling via Skype like someone else did on here. Although I'm not sure with my issue it is a good idea as I think to get changed over from ADSL to ADSL2+ will require the router to reboot. Lets hope it all goes well!

It was not an official request, Sky have only ever asked us to do 2 things, which in my book is pretty good. They have never ever forced us to do anything, both were requests and both we complied with as we agreed.

Hope you get your probs sorted though

      Re: freephone number down?

      1) Remove commercially sensitive figures, which they were quite right to imho

      2) Remove the wrong telephone number from the wrong department, one poor girl sat on her own in an office had 1000's of phone calls. Although she did do her best to resolve queries she could not do her normal daytime job.

However that number was posted time and time again on here and we probably didn't get to remove all instances of it.

I must reiterate, Sky have never been aggressive or forced us to do that, we made our own decision.

      Interesting, thanks.

Good to know that they are aware of your site and that they presumably read it as well from time to time.

sky are aware of most sites that people post on about them thats why staff have to be carefull what they post as with any company they don't want thier staff giving out sensitive info to the public i also agree with newsreader with regards to the tier 3 number other custmors have waited to get thier tickets actioned by them and if people phone direct then they jump the q if some1 does that to u in a supermarket or bank would u like it?

I do agree BUT, When I did have problems a few months ago "thankfully all sorted now" It was a nightmare to get to talk to anyone who had any idea about the problem or how to sort it, I was pulling my hair out and would have done anything to speak to someone "Technical"!
I know Sky broadband is cheap but if they want to maintain there reputation they really need to take a major look at there Customer Service. If it wasn't for the price I would have been off long ago! Having to wait 5 to 10 days for call back is well out of order.
