      Zonealarm and Sky Broadband

I wonder if anyone can help me. I have recently installed Sky broadband and after setting it up it worked fine both wirelessly and when connected with ethernet cable.

I have zonealarm pro and during the installation of sky I switched that off. When I turned it back on it seems to affect my connection and I can't get web pages to load or they do so intermittently. I have added the sky broadband settings to my internet and trusted zones but the problem persists.

I wonder if anyone has any suggestions? If the sky router has a firewall do I actually need zonealarm's firewall?

      Thanks

      Welcome Daz,

Your question has been discussed many times before.
Try the search box on the left of the home page
and put in Firewall or Zone Alarm to get a variety of ideas.

I only use the firewall in the router and I have activated
the Windows firewall in Security centre of XP.
I have not had a problem, but others say this is not
      good enough for real security.

I also use Nod 32 as my Anti-virus software.

I use Zone Alarm but don't have any problems but I notice you say "during the installation of sky", does this mean you installed the stuff on the CD because if so you didn't need to, perhaps that is part of the problem.

      Hi Alan,

Thanks for your message. I didn't install the security suite on sky disc if that is what you mean?
