      Activation fee.

Having used the availability checker several times it looks like our exchange is not going to be unbundled in the next 6 months.
I am considering signing up for connect at 17 and 4 channel packages as a new sky TV customer.
I am however not happy that i have to pay 40 activation whereas someone who's exchange is due in the next 6 months can get it for 20 and only pay 5 for the connect package.
Has anyone managed to get 17 connect activated for 20 is it worth trying to "persuade" them to drop it to 20?

Fast download speeds of up to 8Mb* and a massive usage allowance of 40 GB can now be yours with Sky Broadband Connect. It's available in your area right now for 17 per month plus a one-off broadband activation fee of just 40.

Ask them to do a deal, however Sky are been a bit cocky at the moment as they know that everyone just wants to sign up to them, so in a way, they are saying well if you don't, someone else will.

Give it a go, they can only say no.

edit: why was the word cocky starred out? - fixed needed { and } around the word in admin panel

I paid the 40 connection fee when I first joined the Connect package as I figured out that I would be saving in my first year compaired to what I was paying to BT.

      My ISP is IDNet - 8mb & 30GB CAP + 1 month contract.
I am more than happy with their service but at 24.99 its a little on the expensive side when you compare all the extras you get from Sky for the extra 1.01.
