Received the router yesterday, plugged it in and connected immediately. Let's hope that this is the start of a beautiful friendship.

Received a letter this morning telling me that my order was being processed and that my line would be activated on 13th March, I already knew it had been done. The letter was dated 13th so took 4 days to travel 18 miles, haven't they heard of the Pony Express

      Re: Be Patient!

I'm still waiting mine, been changed over now since 1pm on Wed 14th.

If it doesn't come tomorrow i'll probably cry.

Who delivers them in N.Ireland? is it Parceline for the whole UK? Also if i call parceline and give my name and address can they track it? Or must i ring sky and try to obtain a tracking reference?

      Thanks

Mine arrived the day before the following week (i.e Line active on Tuesday, router following monday).

You can phone parceline and they will ask for your postcode. They can do a trace via this and if it is not out with the delivery driver they can add notes for special drop offs. See my first post.

      Re: Be Patient!

Just called Sky and asked for a Tracking number was told their system states a router was delivered and because i rang and said i didnt have it, they sent another on Friday.

When i rang Parceline with my postcode she couldnt find anything on the system.

Is there no way at all i can get my login? Even if they email to my primary account? Or if i speak to a manager/mentor?

This is really a joke now, when i had Pipex and Nildram they gave my login over the phone no problem, whats the point of security passwords if they dont give you any secure information

      Re: Be Patient!

It is not a question of security, it is Sky's policy not to give the router login information. I would think this is to ensure that nobody messes about with it and subsequently, has problems. Their CS is not up to much and would be even more overwhelmed if people who do not know better messed around with the login details. I think basically their service was set up for users who have never had BB before and wouldn't want to be bothered with technical details. In other words they have tried to set up a 'plug and play' system which would suit newbies It is very frustrating for the more technically minded, who could set up any router to work with Sky BB, but you just have to accept it

      Re: Be Patient!

I'm getting more and more annoyed every call i make, i was now told that the router is marked on their system as delivered, and they are clueless as to why.

There must be someone who can simply help me out and give me the login info, if not it looks as if I'm going to cancel my 50/month TV and also the broadband, i've spent a fortune ringing them and on dialup internet costs

      Re: Be Patient!

If you like your Sky TV, I would reconsider cancelling the TV, this type of threat no longer bothers Sky. I cancelled my TV subs and Sky didn't give a toss.

Fortunately unlike most people, I'm not dependant on TV.

Have you tried this number 08705 515 515. It was given by Newsreader in another thread. If they sent the router, someone must be able to find the tracking number, so insist you are given it when you get through.

      Re: Be Patient!

Basically on Sky's system it says a router was delivered to me, they say it was delivered to my home on the 5th March (The date i signed up), so its obviously a boob in their system.

Now i have to wait 10days for some team to investigate the thing and either trace the router or send me a replacement.
