      Constant disconnections - Sky not helping

      I've been with Sky Broadband for a month now and have been suffering constant drops, so some days I get maybe ten minutes online, other days a couple of hours.

      I called Sky who escalated my problem to tier three, didn't hear anything for 10 days so called them again, and was told that my 'line is being re-calibrated by BT, so Tier 3 won't call you back until that has been done. We have no timeframe for completion.'

      I've already been without a connection at home for over a month, which is a nightmare as I'm doing long distance study with the OU and need to submit essays online and my husband works from home.

      Can anyone shed any light on how long I'll probably have to wait until this gets sorted? Getting increasingly frustrated now.

      I have a similar problem. Sometimes the connection will last several hours, other times several minutes. What error code are you getting when is dis-connects? Whenever I have problems I log in to the router and check the status and the IP address of the router is blank. Then when I press the Test button I get error code 300. I have to do several re-boots to get it working again. Again, like youerself, not very happy with Sky BB, only been activated a week as well. I am going to plug the router into the test socket on the master socket, see if that helps. Are you wired or using wireless? Have you turned off UPnP? Also read that the extension socket only needs 2 wires connected (2 and 5). Cutting the others should improve the speed/stability.
