DSL-AC88U drops WAN connection at 11pm every night.

Its happened for 2 nights on the run now (it's only been in for 2 nights), at almost exactly 11pm the WAN connection drops and it will not reconnect again until I plug the Sky Hub back in, once the Sky hub has reconnected the Asus reconnects again straight away.

I've obviously tried rebooting multiple times and last night I even did a factory reset to try and solve it (which didn't work). When it happened again tonight (40 minutes ago now) all I did was plugged in the Sky hub, let it connect, pulled it out again, replugged the Asus and it went straight back on.

      Anyone got any ideas?

If it does it again tomorrow night (and there's no solution) I'm going to return it back to Amazon.

Edit - It dropped again and now it won't go back on at all.

Have you tried changing the wireless channel? Stuff can interfere with certain channels and often changing to a different wireless channel will fix it.

Re: DSL-AC88U drops WAN connection at 11pm every night.

Thanks for the reply. It was the WAN connection dropping, not the LAN. I did more digging and discovered that if you leave IPv6 enabled on the router it causes the connection to drop when the router issues a DHCP Lease Renewal request to Sky. I disabled IPv6 entirely on the router, rebooted it and now its running perfectly again.

I was seeing this behaviour with my ipv6 for months with sky when it had been fine for ages. In the end I moved to Zen. No further issues with ipv6..

Yeash apologies I got confused. WAN in my mind wireless area network and not wide area network. It's an age thing.
