Ah ok. Thanks very much. The Sky dude did say a couple of days, so I'll give it at least that, especially after what you've just said.

      Thank you

It can take up to 2 weeks but from my other line which is on a Huawei cab with g.inp and lower db profiles it was back on the line with 7 days so hopefully you wont have to wait to long...handy though if you can look at the modem stats as you will be able to see your SNR figure and wether g.inp is on or off...

Re: Sudden 5000Kbps drop in fibre download speed.

Ah ok no problem.. I'll wait a good while then.

I was going to ask if the router would make any difference to the line re-sync as I don't use the Sky SR2 Routers, as they can only do 20Mb on Wireless which is no good to me. I use a Billion 8800AXL R2 (no bridge) I'll have a look through it's 10 billion settings pages
for the noise stats. It was dead easy to find in the Sky router but the Billion is a different matter

      Thanks again

Re: Sudden 5000Kbps drop in fibre download speed.

You can see my stats from my 8800nl huawei line in the link below. The modem is off at the mo due to building works but you can see the line was running at a low db profile and with g.inp applied both of which helped lift the sync...

Got'em. SNR up is 6 and down is 11.4

      In fact...

G.inp ? You got some overhead there too so hopefully give you some more sync speed in time..

Re: Sudden 5000Kbps drop in fibre download speed.

look like it might be on on yours...
if the stats show a bearer 1 then its on.
I have no bearer 1 on my eci line so no g.inp

if you telnet into the modem using command prompt and login and then enter

      adsl info --stats

you should get back a formatted screen you can cut and paste like this
