      Re: Speed Increase

After speed going up and down the last few days I phoned Sky and was told the router I have was not good for Fibre Max. Was OK for Fibre I had before upgrade. Wanted 9.99 for delivery of a new router which they said would supply for free. Not happy about delivery charge and asked why was I upgraded when router was not really compatible with the upgraded speed. Managed to get new router sent out for free without having to pay delivery charge. Hopefully all will be okay when received.

First I have heard of that. There are many using a BT modem and a Sagem router who were able to get the top speed. However if you are getting it free, the ER routers are better than all previous models. The only drawback is that they only have 2 ethernet ports. If you need more you can use your old router as a switch, following Scubbbie's instructions here - How to connect two Routers together

      Re: Speed Increase

Well new router installed for several days now and speeds have increased to levels much higher than before sky increased to 80/20 . No longer dropping to very low speeds.
