      Internet disconnects at 0.10am every night

      Hi guys,

      I've been a Sky Fibre customer for 6 years almost and I've never had any sort of connection issue - until now. In December, my F@ST router finally packed up and Sky replaced it for me with a Sky Hub 3.0 (the one with the gigabit ethernet port). For a few weeks it's been working perfectly, full download/upload speed and no interruptions at all in the day. Thats until last Monday when I noticed my internet had disconnected shortly after midnight, I put it down to a blip, shrugged it off and used it as my cue to go to bed. The next day I was watching Netflix at around about the same time when all of a sudden I got a 'no internet connection' message on my Fire TV. Low and behold, the internet went down again at exactly the same time.

      It's been almost a week now and every single night I've watched it do exactly the same thing, completely disconnect at 0.10am and come back a few hours later. I had been putting this down to maintanence at my exchange until tonight when I decided to reboot my router through the web interface. A minute or so after clicking the button, I had internet again. Just a coincidence or could it well be something in the router thats causing it?

      Rebooting has cleared the logs but I did manage to take a photo of it before rebooting. The logs look pretty much the same for each night:.

      As I say, in the day my internet is rock solid but past midnight, you can gaurantee it'll fall over.

      can you clarify if you lose sync or just the ability to browse the net. sky do seem to do various stuff late a night. There are times often late a night where the wan connection goes down for a couple of hours but the modem does not lose sync.

      Thank you for the response.

      When I log in to the router admin and check the connection stats, only the WAN resets itself. It tells me that Iím still actually connected.

      Itís just odd that as soon as I did a router reboot last night I was back online, whereas when Iíve left it in previous nights, the connection doesnít come back until much later. Or maybe it was just a very lucky coincidence that when I chose to reboot the router the connection did actually return at that point?

      sounds like engineering works etc.. usually they do happen overnight. if the modem sync isn't going down at the same time then could be.

      for what its worth you could enquire with sky if they are aware of any nightly works which may affect you etc..

      Thanks skyeci, good idea I'll drop them a live chat message today.

      I did initially wonder if I was being penalised as a few nights ago I had to upload a 20 GB file to a friend using myairbridge.com. The nightly disconnections started happening the day after this.

      Hey I am having the same issue at the minute, since Saturday I am losing connection every night at 00.20. Did you ever find out what the problem was?

      I have called Sky today to see if they knew, they said all tests came back fine and are sending me out a new router.

      Would be nice to know if you got your sorted out.

      sky keep messing around with the dhcp servers
      which results in the 1 hour lease expiring

      it happens to me on average once a month overall
      the vdsl link will still be live just unable to contact the dhcp server
      and last happened 114 hours ago
      before that maybe a month

      Have seen a number of users having this problems this week on the sky community forum.
      Would suggest that both of you post your experiences on there, as Sky do get to view and act in such issues what is posted on there.
