Can I use any BT Openreach modem?

      Hi guys,

The BT openreach modem that I had installed when I first got Sky Fibre installed back in 2012 has failed. No lights at all on the box and even a different power supply couldn't bring it back to life. The router I use in conjunction with the BTO modem is a Sagem F@ST 2504 and despite numerous calls to Sky, they have wanted 109 to replace the equipment despite renewing my contract with them just a few months ago.

I have a spare BT Openreach modem that belonged to a relative when they were with BT Infinity in the past. Would I be able to use this to get back online or would their old BT Infinity login information be stored inside of it?

      Thanks

Should be fine. Might need a firmware upgrade to allow you to access the GUI and extract stats but in basic form should just work.
