      Sky broadband shield

We had the Sky broadband shield remotely activated today (no prior warning, thanks Sky).
It's causing out fibre speed to plunge from 30mb to around 8.5mb.
I deactivated the shield and within minutes, the speed was back up to 30mb.
I've turned the shield on and off a few times during the day and each time the speed drops when it's on.
      WTF Sky ???

I can offer no explanation only to say that is not normal!
I would give Sky a call if your sure the speed is dropping.

I would but I'm not convinced I'd get anywhere with them tbh.
I'll just leave the shield switched off.

Maybe the servers that "Shield" is routed through are being unusually overloaded today.
Possibly it depends on what you are doing to measure the speed?
I have always had Broadband Shield disabled so....

Would never have it enabled out of sheer principle.
