      SR102 and wifi

Thinking about upgrading to fibre (now the none tv package offer is on) and already have an SR102 (on adsl) from when they came out. Now I've read plenty on here about its poor wifi performance, but to be honest for my minimal wifi usage (mostly use wired), its been adequate. So a couple of questions...

Will the wifi coverage be at least equal to what it is now? (probably a dumb question I know)

Will the router need a firmware update, and do I do this or Sky remotely?.

      thanks

The internet speed has nothing to do with the wireless speed so you will be much the same, unless you get offered a Q router, which appears to be a bit better.

The router will not require an update. It will automatically switch to VDSL provided you have not changed the mode setting from Auto.

      Re: SR102 and wifi

Yeah, I guess I was thinking about a possible firmware needed to make it VDSL compatible, with any known issue/side effect of making the wifi poorer. Might ask for the Q hub, but I'd want (need) to stand it on its end, which from what I've read is not part of its design.
