Replace SR101 and BT Openreach modem with Netgear D7000

I'm looking to replace a Sky SR101 router for a friend with a Netgear D7000 router which I have.
When I went to collect his SR101 so I could extract the login details I noticed he also had a BT Openreach modem connected before the SR101.
I've not seen this combo before (I had a SR102) though believe the 102 superseded it as an all in one unit.

Can I still replace both his SR101 and BT Openreach modem with the Netgear D7000 that he's purchased or does the modem need to stay upfront?
If so, do I just need the login details from the SR101 or do I need anything from the modem?
I take it that with his combo he's connected to fibre? (he's not sure!)

You can just replace both, you'll still need to extract the details from the 101 though, the OR modem will be acting as a bridge, there are no login details etc.

He can log in to his sky account, that will tell him what he's got, but I don't think they ever installed an OR modem on ADSL.
